Once upon a time.

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/octpowrimo-poetry-prompt-day-16-once.html Challenge Day 16

Once upon a time
I wrote about you me and love
The tormented souls
The rejected heart

The corporeal flowers
The late night talks
The fervour
The coffee
And the drama

These days I don't write about love
But of failed lovers
Like you and me
And the dim blue light
Under which we entwined
Like lost birds
Forever seeking the unknown
Amidst the known.

Halfway Done

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/poetry-prompts-writers-fully-writing.html Challenge Day 15

When I told him I loved him once
He shrunk
As if my love would destroy his sanctity
He doesn't talk to me much these days
Fearing if he falls for me.

He asked why didn't I tell him then
He could have tried to love me in return
Fool
He just didn't understand
Love was lost anyways
Only the lover withstand.

I am running late these days..lagging behind. May be it's just the mood or the tricky words which sometimes leave me.
enjoy!

A Candle Light Dinner.

For
http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/octpowrimo-day-14-inspiration-from.html Challenge day 14

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?"
...Mary Oliver

A candle light dinner

An outcome of a left over party
For some stayed behind
Words were thrown as if they were bubbles
Pricked and nothing
Cigarette ashes lay mercilessly on the floor
Rings of smoke absently stare
A few empty beer cans
Some half filled scotch glasses
Cubes of ice wait patiently to melt
Bits of food were thrown to stray dogs
As if it was an example of life less simplified.

Enjoy.

Blue

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/day-13-color-your-world.html Challenge Day 13

'You always write about blue,
Blue flowers, blue lights, Blue vase
Even our curtains are blue',
He complained

I just smiled

For I knew
Blue is the vastness
Blue is the depth
Blue is the light reflected
on the sea
Blue mesmerizes
Blue synchronizes
Blue is you
Blue is me.

I am really running slow. The internet not working. So all my posts are a day late.
Anyways enjoy.

Hunger

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/the-art-of-obsessions-octpowrimo-day-12.html Challenge Day 12

The wailing moon wails
The night demands
The body desires
But
The mind resides elsewhere
A longing prevails
The wolf in him awakes
And she eagerly waits
For the morn to arrive.

Enjoy the poem.

nameless.

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/poetry-prompts-courageously-speaking.html Challenge Day 11.

They found me diabolic
And said evil resided in me
I smiled and said
Isn't other side of God is evil.

I didn't follow the prompt..though our newspaper was flooded with the news of Malala and Kailash Satyarthi but somehow didn't feel like writing for the prompt. I have written on child issues before ..some are posted in the blog and some printed. This time I share a poem on slightly different note. Enjoy.

If you call me mad

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/day-10-world-mental-health-day.html Challenge Day 10

Call me mad if you want to
For I don't belong to the
world of yours
And yes I saw the shrink twice
in my life
Once when I forgot the world
And then  when you forgot me.

I keep counting stars and moons
The lunar always has an effect on me
And scribbler in me scribbles on
For that is my destiny

Loved I have many a times
Sometimes it is the road side dog
Sometimes a human like me
And yes I saw the shrink twice
Once when I forgot the world
And then when you forgot me.

Enjoy the madness.

Why I write.

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/OctPoWriMoDay92014.html Challenge Day 9

If I had not written poetry
A part of me would have been lost
In the unknown
I would have searched and searched
And never know that part
So I scribbled on and on
Even when words were stressed
And thoughts were gone
But hope remained
For me to go on.

I never asked myself why I write poetry...one day I suddenly started writing poetry...may be to keep myself sane and others safe. Enjoy.

Madness

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/poetry-prompts-moon-madness.html Challenge Day 8

Maddening crowd stare at the full moon
And it's the lunar eclipse
Daunting a bewitching spell
Nesting a harmony of milky glow
Evokes a passion deep
Sublime is the moon
Serene is the night.

Waiting for silence to speak.

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/OctPoWriMoDay7.html Challenge Day 7

In the middle of the night
When everybody sleeps
The awakened me
Wait for silence to speak.

The full moon night
The owl that has forgotten to hoot
The wind is calm
A strangeness prevail.

I try to hear the voices of the calm
As I watch through the window the night
of the full moon,
Hark silence
Speak to me
Let me hear your voice
Let me read your mind
You may have a story too
Like the leaves of the thunder fallen tree.

I am running late while posting the poems everyday. Not even finding enough time to comment on the poems of others, though I read them from time to time going back to the days. Enjoy

Perfect Life

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/octpowrimo-day-6-perfect.html Challenge Day 6

To find a perfect life
Searched the world around
Found there is nothing as such
Came back from where I started from.

I tried my hand in the suggested form http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/naani.html.Don't know whether successful or not but had fun. Enjoy!

Life and death.

For  http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/autumn-poetry-octpowrimo-day-5.html Challenge Day 5

The leaves scattered
Red purple orange
The bench under the big oak
Empty
Autumnal rain
Decayed
Decomposed.

Life has it's own way
Waits for winter rain
Death a matter of time
To be reborn once again.

Autumn has a different meaning to me...I love fall..the colours. Somehow I love winter too..May be 'cause I stay in a tropical country so it is a different for me. I love snow and the snow capped mountain.

Reawaken

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/poetry-prompts-day-4-poetry-revolution.html Challenge Day 4.

She lay quietly
as he did her
kneading her breast
as if they were mounds of dough,
he bit her neck
crushing her hands
which might have resisted,
she is all quiet
letting him finish
as he moved in rhythmic passion.

It was like a daily chore
and she was not to complain,
she tried once
but they called her shameless,
they said
it was his right
he was her husband after all.

Then one night
she lay with a knife,
as he moved
she smiled,
and all was quiet
like every other night.

Then there was cries
loud cries...
and a sigh deep inside.

Something was reawakened that night.

My poems are mostly either on love or social issues. As a result I am happy with today's prompt. I have written on various issues except for marital rape. A common problem most woman face but they hardly open their mouth thinking that they have to please their husbands as if it is a part of their marital duties.

Temptations

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/octpowrimo-day-3-its-friday-sweet_3.html Challenge Day 3

And it is the sweet and the candies
And the chocolates and the toffees
And the child in me

The boxes I hide under the bed
The sofa
And the places no one could see

The indulgence
The passion
A bit of ecstasy

A midnight session
A lovemaking
And
Of course
The fantasy.

I followed the word prompt but didn't feel like restricting myself to the the format prompt...was on a born free mode. Enjoy!

Too, to and two

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/octpowrimo-day-2-today-is-more-than.html challenge day 2

I too used to have a heart
To which i used to cling,

And then came the man
who stole my dream.

Two days and two nights
I stayed wide awake,

So I thought may be
I could bake a cake,

Then I found that the man too
Loved to eat and drink.

A chili chocolate it was
A mess it made in the sink.

Through his stomach
I stole his heart

In exchange of mine
Now I can say  'I am fine'

Thought of writing a funny poem this time.

I too could have been a butterfly

For http://www.octpowrimo.com/2014/10/breaking-out-of-box.html challenge Day 1

As I lay in the dustbin
filled with blood and the umbilical cord
that joined us mother,
I thought what was my fault?
I could have grown into a butterfly one day
that too a beautiful one;
they said I was a girl child
so they uprooted me
saying you didn't want me
neither did Paa.

Don't know how much of it is true

I can hear the dogs bark nearby now
some pulling on to the cord
some snatching on to my arm
as
I feel a strange pain,
Am I still alive mother
or
am I dead.

The Octpowrimo starts again. A whole new month dedicated to poetry. A part of of me still the same..a part of me different.

The room.

The house is big with large windows
but the room is mine
the east facing window with a chime keep me company
as the first sunshine falls on my face as I sleep
the blue curtains sooth
the birds that sit on the sill
wake me to dream
of an knowingly unknown world.

The house is big with large windows
but the room is mine.

love and poetry

Between love and poetry
I chose love
But poetry was loyal
so it chose me.
