Holding on

For
http://www.poetsonthepage.blogspot.in/2013/11/mini-poetry-prompt-forever-loved.html
The way I hold on to you
my old red t-shirt
though you have faded away
to orange,
so what?
you were once red.

Twelve years is a long time
my friend
but you are still my favourite
though the way I cling to you
turns my wife jealous sometimes.

My favourite red t-shirt
now that you are rugged
and old
I keep you in my wardrobe
snuggling once in a while
keeping the old feeling alive.

This one is for my husband who still cling on to his favourite t-shirt.

reminds me of a short story wrtten by somerset maughm.
The wife got so furiously jealous about husbands old jacket that one night she disengaged herself from her husband's embrace, walked staraight to the cupboard, got the Jacket out ,took hold of a pair of scissors and cut the jacket into pieces in delirium. Then as if nothing happened went back to the bed, fell asleep asif nothing had happened.
Your poem beautifulthough is close to mr Maughm;s story.

Sentimental attachment is something too close to heart and soul.

What can be more simply simple than this ? :)
The emotions which we attach to our precious objects ... so beautifully you seem to have woven it in here... The secret affection...the love...the clinging possessiveness... !! Refreshingly lovely. :)
